AUTONOMOUS FUEL STATIONS WITH ON SITE GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION
A massive wave of hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles FCEVs is coming fast in the global market. Hydrogen FCEVs are taking significant momentum of the zero emissions vehicles at a mass scale worldwide. Auto makers like Toyota, Hyundai and BMW have already in the market hydrogen FCE cars, with Honda, GM, Chrysler and more to line up their full production hydrogen car models at high speeds. The strong green capital incentives by governments and renowned funding groups, as well as fossil fuel free vehicle mandates from governments, states and other public authorities highly boost the mass production of green hydrogen vehicles FCEVs.
Green Hydrogen Vehicles
This upcoming mega global fleet of hydrogen cars, trucks, buses and more vehicles has already started to create an unprecedented demand for green hydrogen. As hydrogen is very versatile and green energy platform, it is the best green fuel for fossil fuel free vehicles. This is totally obvious in markets that require long-range and demanding duty cycles with minimum downtime, like professional cars, taxis, buses, trucks and more.
GREEN HYDROGEN SUPPLY TO MASS MARKET OF HYDROGEN VEHICLES
There are generally two primary methods to supply green hydrogen fuel to the mass market of FCEVs:
A. Distribution and delivery via trucks with standardized storage tanks, and
B. Production onsite, within autonomous green hydrogen fuel stations.
DELIVERY WITH TRUCKS IN STANDARDIZED STORAGE TANKS
This option requires the hydrogen supply to be trucked in, compressed and/or cooled when in storage at site and through delivery. If a readily available hydrogen production source is economically close, this option offers a very good investment strategy on the long run, as it provides green hydrogen production at a scale. In this regard a green hydrogen production station using gaseous or liquid hydrogen delivery model has access to a larger market of green energy.
ONSITE GREEN HYDROGEN PRODUCTION IN AUTONOMOUS FUEL STATIONS
Green Hydrogen can be produced onsite using containerized electrolyzers sized and scalable to meet the exponentially growing mass market hydrogen vehicle FCEV fleet demand. This ensures ample supply is available to keep fleets operational.
When electrolyzers are powered from renewable power sources such as wind, solar or hydroelectric, the produced hydrogen is certified green, and called with the term: Green Hydrogen. It has the zero well-to-wheel carbon emissions compared to other fuels, as well as battery and hybrid counterpart solutions.
A single 1 MW electrolyzer autonomous green hydrogen fuel station can generate over 400 kg of H2 daily at 99.98 percent purity. This is enough to fuel 12 freight trucks/day up to 225 miles each, or 120 FCEV cars/day with similar range. This green hydrogen production capacity can be scaled fast to over 20MW configurations.
Autonomous green hydrogen fuel stations network will be very important on replacing fossil fuel gas stations with green hydrogen, and reach our climate targets to zero emissions and totally green economy.
The momentum of green hydrogen demand is growing in leaps. Many countries have begun developing green hydrogen-specific plans and policies, and most countries already have emission reduction targets that will require zero or low carbon alternative fuels like hydrogen. When emissions-based incentives and mandates are present, the market tends to move the fastest.
